Descripción
The Kabo area is used for experiments in forestry, testing the Celos Management System. After the initial set up, surveys on biodiversity were carried out during several years. Data on amphibians in the data set were collected by Rawien Jairam and Gwendolyn Landburg. A few others collected Diptera and Lepidoptera.

Datos del proyecto
The CELOS Management System was initiated in the 1960 and was meant to be a form of sustainable forestry in the Kabo area and the Mapane area. Test areas were established and monitored for the recovery of the forest ecosystem for several taxonomic groups (plants, amphibians, reptiles, insects etc.)

The sampling methods were specific to the taxonomic groups and included transect walks, hand sampling through active insect collecting.

Descripción de la metodología paso a paso:
- 1. The amphibians were collected using line transects during night and day surveys. Reptiles and amphibians were collected by hand when encountered. Insects were collected using various methods (active sampling). 2. The specimens were labeled in the field and after identification a collection number was assigned to each specimen. 3. The specimens were first preserved in formaldehyde and then transferred into 70% Ethanol. The insects were pinned and dried. 4. All specimens were identified to species using literature, keys and foreign experts.
