說明
Invasive alien species pose substantial threats to agriculture, biodiversity and the delivery of ecosystem services globally. Information is an essential starting point that would enable the quantification of these threats, and inform the development of appropriate responses. Comprehensive lists of invasive alien plants are generally lacking in most parts of sub-Saharan Africa. Plant invasive alien species are among the significant drivers of environmental change worldwide and important causes of biodiversity losses. They contribute to economic hardship and social instability, placing constraints on sustainable development, economic growth, and ecological problems in various parts of the world including Tanzania. This project was undertaken to provide information on the list of plant invasive species existing in Tanzania. The project used documentary search and interviews with relevant stakeholders.
