Description
In 2006, the Butterfly India Meet happened in Jairampur, Arunachal Pradesh. This was the first butterfly meet ever staged in the Eastern Himalayan region. The state of Arunachal Pradesh is well-known for its exceptional variety of plant and animal life.The land cover changes from tropical evergreen forest to temperate broadleaf and mixed forest as elevation increases. Butterflies, including different kinds of Spindasis and many other species, are significantly more prevalent here than they are elsewhere. At this meeting, there were more than 20 participants from all around India. The Meet's primary focus was on butterflies, although other taxa were also observed and noted. Mpen, Miao, and Namdapha area of Changlang district were covered during the meet.
