Description

This resource contains an up-to-date dataset of the amphibians and reptiles of Agusan Marsh Wildlife Sanctuary since the first herpetological inventory of the Agusan Basin was conducted a century ago.

Data Records

The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 420 records.

This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

Versions

The table below shows only published versions of the resource that are publicly accessible.

Sampling Methods

Visual Encounter Surveys were conducted by experienced fieldworkers to identify and record species occurrences in three major habitat types (peat swamp, freshwater swamp, and mixed swamp). Collected specimens were photographed in life, their microhabitats recorded, and their positions georeferenced.

Study Extent Field surveys were conducted within peat swamp, freshwater swamp, and mixed swamp forests within each of the Municipalities of San Francisco, Rosario, Bunawan, Talacogon, and Loreto in the Province of Agusan del Sur, Caraga Region, Mindanao, Philippines.

Method step description:

  1. Visual Encounter Surveys, recording of natural history collection in a field catalog, data transcription, cleaning, and publishing using Darwin Core standards in GBIF.
