Description

During the Monsoon period as a part of Master’s dissertation project of Laboni Pal, under the guidance of respective faculty members, a study was conducted to document the entire floral diversity of the Ballygunge Science College Campus, which is situated in the middle of Kolkata, in a complete urban surroundings. Along with the floral documentation, dependence on various insects, specially butterflies were also observed.

Data Records

The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 213 records.

Study Extent The study was conducted covering most of the plants available in the Ballygunge Science College campus during monsoon period.

Method step description:

  1. The entire campus was divided into 5 zones. All the plants were photographed and identified using applications and books. Note on abundance were also taken.
