The dataset of butterflies of Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park is constructed based on the results of the Vietnam national research project, titled " Research on biodiversity of Son Doong cave system in Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, Quang Binh province for conservation and sustainable development”, coded DTĐL.CN-113/21, supported by the Vietnam Ministry of Science and Technology, conducted by the Vietnam National Museum of Nature, Hanoi, Vietnam.
Registros

Descripción del área de estudio | The studied areas were Thuong Hoa commmune, Minh Hoa district, and Tan Trach and Thuong Trach commues, Bo Trach district in Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park. The Park is located in the middle of the Annamite Mountain Range in Quang Binh province, Viet Nam, and shares its boundary with the Hin Namno Nature Reserve in the Lao PDR to the west. The area of the Park is 123,326 ha containsing terrestrial and aquatic habitats, primary and secondary forest, sites of natural regeneration, tropical dense forests and savanna and is rich in large, often spectacular and scientifically significant caves. The most significant cave in the studied area is Son Doong cave, considered the larst cave in the world. |
Descripción del diseño | The studies of butetrflies were carried out in April, May, June in years. Butterflies were collected by hand nets in difenrent habitats from opne areas to natural closed forest; butterfly species and their abundance were also observed and recored long paths in the forest habitat, grass and shrub, agrcultural and along stream habitats, inluding forest in the cave. |
