Description
Data Records
The data in this sampling event resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 96 records.
1 extension data tables also exist. An extension record supplies extra information about a core record. The number of records in each extension data table is illustrated below.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.
Versions
The table below shows only published versions of the resource that are publicly accessible.

Geographic Coverage
Sampling was conducted in two distinct areas of Kinshasa city: Kitambo municipality, representing an urban environment located in the southwestern part of the city, and Mont-Ngafula municipality, representing a peri-urban environment located in the northwestern part of the city. The dataset thus covers selected urban and peri-urban localities within Kinshasa city, enabling comparative analysis of arboviral vector distribution across different urbanization landscapes.

Sampling Methods
A variety of sampling techniques were employed to target both adult and immature stages of Aedes populations. These included human landing catches (HLC), Prokopack aspirators, BG-Sentinel traps, and larval dipping.
| Study Extent | This dataset captures detailed entomological observations on Aedes mosquitoes collected from both urban and peri-urban areas of Kinshasa city, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo |

Method step description:
- The present work is an analytical cross-sectional study conducted over 12 months, including the dry and rainy seasons (January 2024 - December 2024). In addition, the present work was carried out both in the field and in the laboratory. A. field work involved : - prospecting breeding sites and collecting larvae ; - Characterizing types of breeding sites ; - capturing mosquitoes according to the sampling techniques selected; - record the geolocation coordinates of the various capture sites. B. laboratory work focused on - raising the pre-imaginal stages of Aedes; - morphological identification of adult mosquitoes using the identification keys of Huang & Rueda (2014) and Coetzee (2020).
