This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

Cobertura Geográfica
The sampling site is located in the Natura 2000 (N2K) site called SAC IT7228221 Foce Trigno-Marina di Petacciato (Italy). It is characterized by a natural vegetation zonation of sand coastal dunes (Prisco et al., 2016). The N2K site holds a high naturalistic value, with 11 habitats of European conservation concern (EU) in a good conservation status (Stanisci et al., 2014) and stabilized dunes (Prisco et al., 2015; Di Paola et al., 2022). The habitat zonation (following the sea-inland gradient) consists of embryonic and shifting dune habitats (EU habitats 1210, 2110, 2120), transition dunes with annual grassland (EU habitats 2230), well-preserved low Mediterranean maquis (EU habitats 2260), and back dunes with pine forest (EU habitat 2270*) (Del Vecchio et al., 2015).

Dados Sobre o Projeto
The LIFEPLAN project aims to establish the current state of biodiversity worldwide and use our knowledge to generate accurate predictions of its future state under future scenarios. In LIFEPLAN, we have characterised biological diversity through a global sampling programme and are developing the bioinformatics and statistical approaches needed to make the most of these data.

Descrição da Área de Estudo | The sampling site is located in the Natura 2000 (N2K) site called SAC IT7228221 Foce Trigno-Marina di Petacciato (Italy). Descrição do Design | Five camera traps (model 4.0C from Wildlife Monitoring Solutions) were set following the sampling design of the LIFEPLAN project, which consists of a square plot of 1 hectare with five sampling points (four corners and a center). |
O pessoal envolvido no projeto:
Métodos de Amostragem
Each camera trap was fixed on a tree at 0.5 m from the ground and oriented downward and was motion activated by a passive infrared sensor, taking a series of 5 photographs approximately 1 s apart (5-megapixel color CMOS) with 2560x1920 effective pixels and IR range of 20 m. Following the LIFEPLAN protocol, they were equipped with an access code to minimize the risks of tampering . The mammal fauna specimens captured by the camera traps are those on the ground (including some occasional birds).
Área de Estudo | Five camera traps (model 4.0C from Wildlife Monitoring Solutions) were set following the sampling design of the LIFEPLAN project and were active for 233 days from February to December 2021. |
---|---|
Controle de Qualidade | Image records were previously analyzed to eliminate repetitive images of the same specimen separated by fractions of a second both photographed by the same camera trap and by nearby camera traps. A thorough examination of each individual photo sequence was conducted to identify separate photo-capture events. Successive captures of the same species that occurred within 30 minutes of each other were considered a single event if the individual animals could not be clearly identified based on factors such as gender, age class, or unique body markings. |
Descrição dos passos do método:
- Images were analyzed with the aid of specialist literature and taxonomic manuals to identify the species. ùCAM-COAST database collected species detected in the study area including following attributes: a) number of occurrences for species; b) scientific name and authors for each species (Festari & Castelli, 2011; Avibase; Mammal Diversity); c) English common name (Avibase; Mammal Diversity); d) taxonomic information of family and order; e) date and season of occurrences (season identification as for ISTAT; f) time and daily phase of occurrences (daily phase as for Desk Aeronautico; Time and Date AS. 1995–2025); g) number of individual per photografic image and total occurrences after elimination of repetitive images.
