Description
Data Records
The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 562,816 records.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.
Versions
The table below shows only published versions of the resource that are publicly accessible.

Project Data
The geo-referenced data from the Balkans are scarce, although much is to be discovered and learned about the rich biodiversity there. This project will mobilise a minimum of 500,000 biodiversity records from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina – a region of immense significance for Europe’s biodiversity. The project will encourage data collection, digitisation, standardisation and publication. Hands-on training sessions will be provided to local database managers and researchers to facilitate data publication in GBIF. By the end of the project, we anticipate doubling the amount of published data from Serbia in GBIF. Additionally, HabiProt Serbia who maintains the Alciphron database, commits to establishing a connection for direct upload to GBIF ensuring continuous and seamless sharing of biodiversity data beyond the project’s timeframe.
