Latest version published by Bombay Natural History Society on Oct 30, 2019 Bombay Natural History Society

Type specimens are extremely crucial for taxonomic studies as they form the backbone for species nomenclature. BNHS houses a good collection of type specimens, especially for reptiles and amphibians which is growing frequently. The dataset consists of 226 occurrence records for type specimens of various reptiles collected from India and nearby countries. Verbatim coordinates and rectified latitude and longitude is also provided wherever available.

Data Records

The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 226 records.

This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.
