說明

Rodent (order Rodentia) is the most diversified group among all mammals, consists of 5 suborders and 33 families. There are five families of rodents currently known from Thailand, including Sciuridae (e.g. squirrels, flying squirrels etc.), Muridae (rats, mice etc.), Spalacidae (bamboo rat), Cricetidae (voles) and Hystricidae (porcupine). In PSU Natural History Museum collection, there are only specimens of Muridae. The collection represents 7 genera and 15 species of those 12 genera and 37 murid species known in Thailand. It is a good representative of southern Thailand murids as most of the specimens were collected from peninsular Thailand, with more than 70% of which were obtained from Tarutao National Park, Andaman Sea, Satun Province.
