Sampling Methods

The data was collected for a period of five months, from August to December 2022. The point count method was used to document the bird species because of its efficiency in estimating the species diversity and abundance in changing environments. The survey was conducted on days with clear weather between 15:30 and 18:30 hrs, three to four times a week.

Study Extent The present study was conducted within an underconstructed Nalanda University (NU) campus situated in the Rajgir town of Nalanda district, Bihar, India.

Method step description:

  1. 10×50 Celestron binoculars, a Cuddle Back Digital Flash Black camera trap, and a Nikon P550 point-and-shoot camera were used for the survey. The birds' presence was recorded, and literature was referred to for species identification. The final records of birds only included birds whose identification was confirmed through literature or other available resources.
