Descrição
Although the Mt. Hilong-hilong Range has been recognized as a key biodiversity area in the eastern Mindanao biodiversity corridor, in the southern Philippines, only a portion of its jurisdiction has been protected. This dataset represents the first records of the amphibians and reptiles collected from two municipalities covering the Cabadbaran-Santiago Natural Park (the legally recognized protected area in the Mt. Hilong-hilong Range). Fieldwork, and the establishment of the database/publishing infrastructure was conducted/created under the Project: FSUU-Biodiversity Informatics and Research Center with funding from The Philippine Commission on Higher Education-Institutional Development and Innovation Grant.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

Métodos de Amostragem
The standardized collection and specimen preservation techniques followed Heyer et al. (1994), Auffenberg and Auffenberg (1988), and Simmons (2002). Nocturnal (1900–0000h) and diurnal (1000–1500) searches were conducted in a variety of habitat types, along 2.0-km transects, established in each riparian and terrestrial zone.
Área de Estudo | The Cabadbaran-Santiago Natural Park (CSNP) houses the Cabadbaran River Watershed Forest Reserve, which was a declared protected area under the National Integrated Protected Area System Act of 1992. It covers the Municipalities of Cabadbaran (Sitios Ansilie, Lusong, Tumipe, Dagsanay, Puting-bato, and portion of Barangays Mahaba, Calamba, and Bayabas) and Santiago (Barangays San Isidro and Poblacion 1) in the Province of Agusan del Norte. The area is also known as the source of water not only for the municipalities of Cabadbaran and Santiago, but also for the municipality of Remedios T. Romualdez and portions of Butuan City in Agusan del Norte Province (Mallari et al. 2001). |
