        <abstract>
            <para>This dataset contains biodiversity occurrence records collected in Cheki 3, near Bunia, in Ituri Province, Democratic Republic of Congo. The data were gathered through direct field observations conducted by the ADE-CLIMATERRA team during routine activities in agroforestry areas and surrounding habitats. </para><para>The dataset includes records of plants and animals, covering a wide range of taxonomic groups such as insects (e.g. butterflies, grasshoppers, flies, bees), plants (cultivated species and spontaneous vegetation), and selected vertebrates observed in the area.</para><para>Observations were recorded opportunistically and are not the result of a systematic biodiversity survey. Each record is associated with a date and geographic coordinates, allowing spatial and temporal interpretation of species presence.</para>

        <introduction><para>This dataset presents the first occurrence records collected by ADE‑CLIMATERRA in Cheki 3 village, Sharie commune, Bunia city, Ituri Province, Democratic Republic of the Congo. The records document cultivated plant species, domestic animals, and managed honey bee colonies observed during agroforestry, livestock, and beekeeping activities.The initiative is part of ADE‑CLIMATERRA’s broader mission to promote sustainable land management, agroecology, and community‑based resource stewardship in eastern DRC. By compiling and publishing these records, the project contributes to biodiversity monitoring, supports scientific research, and enhances the visibility of local practices through the GBIF network.This dataset provides a baseline for future studies and offers valuable insights into the integration of agroforestry, livestock, and apiculture within rural development strategies in Ituri Province.</para></introduction>

Recording of Data – Date of observation noted in the format 2026‑01‑31.

Georeferencing – Geographic coordinates collected using handheld GPS devices or mobile phones (WGS84).

Taxonomic Validation – Scientific names checked and harmonized according to Darwin Core standards.

Quantification – Organism quantity and type documented (e.g., number of individuals, colonies).

Data Entry – Information entered into the dataset following Darwin Core fields for compatibility with GBIF.</para>
